Sno-Eagles Snowmobile Club Trails
The Sno-Eagles Snowmobile Club is a non-profit organization based in Eagle River, Wisconsin—officially known as the "Snowmobile Capital of the World®." For over 50 years, the club has been dedicated to developing, maintaining, and promoting the sport of snowmobiling in the Northwoods.
Key Features:
Trail Maintenance: The Sno-Eagles are responsible for grooming and maintaining approximately 80 to 100 miles of world-class trails. These trails connect Eagle River to the vast network of Vilas County and the surrounding areas.
Innovation: The club is historically significant for developing the first "groomer drag" with angled cutting blades, a design that revolutionized trail grooming across the industry. They also originated the orange diamond trail markers used nationwide.
Community & Events: They organize weekly guided trail rides, safety courses, and social events. The club is a key supporter of major local events like the World Championship Snowmobile Derby.
Volunteer Driven: The organization relies on a dedicated group of volunteers and members who operate the grooming equipment and ensure the trails remain in pristine, safe condition for the public.
Year-Round Presence: While focused on winter sports, the club is active year-round, working with local businesses and government to ensure trail access and promote tourism in the Eagle River area.
Whether you are a local rider or a visitor, the Sno-Eagles provide the infrastructure and community support that makes Eagle River a premier destination for winter enthusiasts.
